IITF 2026: a content plan for Uttarakhand makers and factories taking a stall
IITF 2026 is listed for 14 to 27 November at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. If you have a stall, shoot your products and process before Diwali on 8 November. Announce the hall and stall number from about 10 November, post daily during the fair, and message every serious lead within three days of it closing.
A stall at the India International Trade Fair costs money, travel and two weeks of someone's time. Most exhibitors from the hills and the Terai treat it as a selling event and plan nothing around it. Yet many of the buyers worth meeting decide which stalls to visit before they reach the hall.
This plan is for SIDCUL units, pahadi food brands, woollen and handloom makers and D2C labels from Udham Singh Nagar and Kumaon with a stall, whether in a state pavilion, the MSME pavilion or on their own. It works backwards from 14 November.
01When is IITF 2026, and who should plan for it?
Trade fair listings put IITF 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, from 14 to 27 November, organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation. KNN reported in August that the MSME pavilion runs under the theme Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi, with dedicated business days for B2B meetings. Listings note that dates can change, so confirm with the organiser before booking travel.
The plan below matters most for:
- Food brands selling pahadi produce, pickles, honey, millets and spices.
- Woollen, shawl and handloom makers.
- SIDCUL manufacturers looking for dealers and bulk buyers.
- D2C labels that sell online and want buyers to meet them in person.
Decide your one goal first. Retail sales, dealers or bulk orders each need different content and a different follow-up.
02What should we shoot before Diwali?
From now to the end of October, shoot. Diwali falls on 8 November, the week before the fair, and nobody wants a crew in the kitchen, loom shed or factory that week.
- Product shots on a clean background, plus each product in use.
- The process: the loom, the kitchen, the machine line, the packing table.
- The founder or plant head speaking for half a minute about what you make and who it is for.
- A short clip of the stall team, so visitors recognise the faces they will meet.
We shoot makers where the work happens. For Noore Pashmina that meant a shawl campaign on location and a reel at the loom, where the shawl starts. A process clip like that gives a stranger a reason to stop at your stall.
Also print a QR code that opens your WhatsApp with a ready message. Put it on the backdrop, the counter and the price list.
03What should we post in the two weeks before 14 November?
Announce the stall, but give people a reason to come. Visit us at IITF, on its own, does nothing.
| When | What to post | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 6 November | A process reel: how the product is made. | People care before they visit. |
| Around Diwali | A greeting with your real product, not a stock image. | Stay visible without selling hard. |
| 10 to 13 November | Hall and stall number, dates, and what is new. | Turn interest into a visit. |
| 13 November | A short founder clip: see you tomorrow. | A personal invitation. |
Send the hall and stall number on WhatsApp to dealers, past buyers and Delhi contacts, one by one. Do not blast a bought list. Calling or texting strangers in bulk now carries real risk under TRAI's spam rules, as our note at TRAI's new spam rules: what changes for businesses that call and SMS customers explains.
04What should we post during the fair?
Fourteen days is long. Plan a simple daily rhythm that one person at the stall can manage on a phone:
- Morning: a story of the stall opening, with the hall number.
- Midday: a clip of a visitor tasting, trying or touching the product, with their permission.
- Evening: one reel or carousel of the day's best moment.
- Every day: answer DMs and WhatsApp before the stall shuts, not on the train home.
Network inside crowded halls can be slow, so upload from the hotel at night if you must. If the budget allows, bring a crew for a day or two, ideally one business day and one busy public day.
Fair footage is only usable if someone plans it. We covered Saras Mela day and night across its full run, including the buyer-seller meet. See the Saras Mela case study.
05How do we capture leads at the stall?
Most stalls collect visiting cards in a bowl and lose them in a bag. Do this instead:
- Use the WhatsApp QR code, so the visitor messages you and the chat is saved.
- Keep a simple sheet: name, city, business, what they want, and a priority mark.
- Label chats in WhatsApp Business as dealer, bulk buyer or retail customer.
- Photograph each card and add one line about the conversation.
Ask before you add anyone to a broadcast list. A buyer who asked for your price list wants the price list, not a daily offer.
06What should we do after the fair closes on 27 November?
This is where most of the value is, and where most exhibitors stop.
- By 30 November: message every serious lead personally, with the catalogue and a line that recalls your conversation.
- First week of December: post a recap reel thanking visitors and buyers.
- Through December: cut the fair and process footage into product reels and ads for the wedding and winter season.
- Update your website with what you showed, so buyers who search your name find it.
A stall gives you a fortnight of footage. Used well, it becomes your winter content. If you sell online, our approach for D2C brands is at E-commerce & D2C Marketing Agency in Rudrapur.
07What mistakes do exhibitors make?
- Shooting nothing before the fair and hoping the stall looks good on a phone.
- Posting about the fair with no hall, stall number or reason to visit.
- Filming visitors without asking them.
- Leaving the one person at the stall to sell, post and reply alone.
- Never following up after the fair.

08Questions people ask
Is IITF worth it for a small maker from Uttarakhand?
It depends on your goal. If you want retail sales, the public days bring crowds. If you want dealers and bulk buyers, the business days matter more. Either way, the stall pays back only if the leads are followed up. Decide the one goal before you go, and plan the content around it.
Should we run ads around the fair?
Small, targeted ads can help. Show a reel of your product with the stall number to people in Delhi and the NCR, in the week before and the first days of the fair. Keep the budget modest and send people to WhatsApp. How we run reels as ads is at Facebook Ads Agency in Rudrapur | Meta Ads.
Can we use the same plan for other fairs and expos?
Yes. The same rhythm works for a local mela, a state expo or an industry show. Shoot a few weeks before, announce the stall with a reason to visit, post daily during the event, and follow up within days of it ending. Only the dates and the audience change.
What should the stall team carry for content?
A phone with a good camera and free storage, a power bank, a small clip-on microphone and a phone stand. That covers daily stories and short clips. Keep one clean corner of the stall with good light for product shots, away from the busiest aisle.
