How do I get more patients from the hills for my hospital in Haldwani?

Families from the hills choose a Haldwani hospital before they travel, usually through a relative's phone. Show your doctors, OPD days, departments and how to reach you, in Hindi, in formats that load on weak data. Answer WhatsApp questions quickly, make no cure claims, and let doctors explain things in their own words.

For much of Kumaon, Haldwani is where serious treatment happens. A family from Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh or Champawat may spend a full day on the road to see a specialist. They do not make that trip on a hunch.

Usually the decision is made on a phone. A son working in Delhi, a nephew in Haldwani, or a neighbour who went last year. They search, they ask on WhatsApp, and they compare what each hospital shows. Your marketing has to answer them before the bus leaves.

01What do families from the hills check before choosing a hospital?

When a family travels a long way, the cost of a wasted trip is high. So the questions are practical. In our experience with clinics and hospitals, these come up again and again:

  • Which doctor, which department, and on which days is the OPD?
  • Do we need an appointment, or can we come and wait?
  • Is there an ICU, an emergency and the tests we need under one roof?
  • Does the hospital accept our insurance or government scheme?
  • Roughly what will the consultation and common tests cost?
  • How do we reach it from the bus stand or Kathgodam station?
  • Where can the attendant stay and eat for a few days?

Most hospital pages answer none of these. They post festival greetings and a photo of the building. A family from the hills scrolls past and asks someone else.

02What should a hospital in Haldwani post?

Post the information a worried family needs, and the people who will treat them. Here is what we suggest to hospitals on the first call:

PostWhat it tells the familyHow to make it
Doctor introductionsWho they will meet, and that the doctor is approachableThe doctor on camera, in Hindi, on one common question
OPD calendarWhich day to travelA simple weekly graphic, updated when it changes
How to reach usThe trip is manageableA short reel from the bus stand and the station to the gate
Departments and facilitiesTests and care under one roofAn honest walk-through, no patients in frame
Attendant helpSomewhere to rest and eatThe waiting area, canteen and nearby stays
Insurance and scheme deskWhether they can afford itThe staff member who helps, explaining the process

Doctor-led video works best. We have shot doctor-led reels for Dr. Chandra's chiropractic clinic and presenter-led physio explainers for Instep Physio. A calm doctor explaining one thing plainly earns more trust than any banner.

03How do you reach patients on patchy data in the hills?

Mobile data in many hill villages is slow or comes and goes. Heavy videos and big PDFs do not load. Build for that reality.

  • Keep reels short, with Hindi text on screen, so they work without sound and on a slow connection.
  • Make the OPD calendar and the contact details a single image that is easy to forward on WhatsApp.
  • Send voice notes in Hindi when families ask questions; older relatives often prefer them.
  • Keep your website light, with one clear page per department and the phone number at the top.
  • Put the same information in the same place every time, so a forwarded post still makes sense.

If a reel or a page needs strong 4G to make sense, it has failed the family in Munsiyari. Our guide at What a local business website in Rudrapur or Haldwani actually needs (and what it does not) covers what a light local website should carry.

04What rules should hospital marketing follow?

Healthcare marketing carries more responsibility than selling sarees. We hold every hospital post to a few rules, and we check each one with the medical director before it goes out:

  • No promises of cure, recovery or results.
  • No before-and-after photos of patients.
  • No patient faces or stories without written consent.
  • No claims of being the best or the only hospital for anything.
  • Doctors follow their own professional rules on publicity, which they know better than any agency.

Ad platforms also have health policies. Ads that suggest they know a viewer's condition tend to be rejected. We keep ads to the doctor, the department, the OPD day and the way to book.

05Should a hospital run Google and Facebook ads?

Both have a place. Google ads catch families already searching for a specialist in Haldwani, often the relative in a city. Facebook and Instagram ads reach people in the hill districts before they search, with a doctor introduction or a camp announcement.

Health camps in hill towns deserve special care. Announce the date, place and doctors well ahead, through local pages, WhatsApp groups and a small ad around the camp area. Film the camp respectfully, without patients' faces. That footage becomes your best proof that the hospital comes to the hills too.

Judge ads on calls, WhatsApp enquiries and OPD visits that mention the ad. Our page at Google Ads Agency in Rudrapur for Local Search & Calls explains how we set up search ads for local businesses.

06What mistakes do hospitals make online?

  • Only festival greetings and inauguration photos, nothing a patient can use.
  • A phone number on the post that rings an empty reception desk.
  • Doctor details that are out of date after a specialist leaves.
  • Posting in English only, when most families think and ask in Hindi.
  • Ignoring Google reviews, including the angry ones about waiting time.
  • Stock photos of foreign hospitals and smiling models.

The family from the hills notices every one of these. One wrong OPD day can cost them two days of travel, and they will tell everyone in the village.

07How does AMS work with hospitals and clinics?

Advance Media Solution is a seven-person studio in Metropolis City, Rudrapur, about an hour from Haldwani. We have worked with MAK Hospital, Dr. Chandra, Instep Physio, Happy Minds and Satyam Pharmacy. As Dr. Siya Mishra, a psychologist we work with, put it: "I used to think social media was a vanity project until I saw the numbers."

With a hospital we start with one shoot day: doctors on camera, the departments, the route from the bus stand, and the help desk. Then we post steadily, answer messages and run careful ads. More on our approach is at Hospital & Clinic Marketing Agency in Rudrapur. Retainers start from ₹35,000 a month plus GST.

If you run a hospital in Haldwani and want families from the hills to find you first, call +91 91059 43909. Or this week, put your OPD calendar into one clear image and pin it.

08Questions people ask

Should a hospital share consultation fees online?

A range helps. Families travelling from the hills budget for the trip, the stay and the treatment, and an unknown fee keeps them away. Share the consultation fee and the cost range of common tests, and say clearly that the doctor will advise on anything further after seeing the patient.

Can we post patient testimonials?

Only with written consent, and only about the experience, such as the care, the staff or the cleanliness. Avoid claims about cure or results. Many families are happy to speak, but give them the choice to show their face or not, and remove the post the same day if they change their mind.

Should our doctors be on camera?

Yes, if they are willing. Families want to know who they will meet before they travel. Keep it short and practical: one question, one clear answer, in Hindi. A doctor speaking plainly in the hospital corridor does more than a polished ad. We keep shoots short so OPD is not disturbed.

Is Instagram or Facebook better for reaching the hills?

Both matter, but Facebook and WhatsApp often reach older relatives better, while Instagram reaches the son or daughter in the city. Post the same core information on all of them, and make every post easy to forward, because in the hills a forwarded message is how news travels.
