Guide
Does my clinic in Haldwani need a website, and what should it have?
Yes, if you want patients who do not already know you. A clinic website in Haldwani needs the doctor's name and qualifications, OPD timings, treatments in plain Hindi and English, a map, and one-tap call and WhatsApp buttons. It must load fast on a mid-range phone. Booking software can usually wait.
Patients in Haldwani rarely find a doctor on a website first. Someone in the family suggests a name, or they search on Google and see your listing. Then they check. Is this doctor real, what are the qualifications, when do they sit, where is the clinic, and will anyone answer the phone?
A family coming down from Bhimtal or Almora checks even harder, because a wasted visit costs them a full day. A website is where you answer all of this before they call. It does not need to be big. Here is what it needs, what can wait, and where clinics waste money.
01Does a clinic in Haldwani really need a website?
If every patient comes through an old family connection and your OPD is full, you can manage without one for now. For most clinics, the answer is yes, for three reasons:
- Your Google listing shows reviews and timings, but says little about you. A website explains your training, your approach and your treatments.
- Instagram and Facebook are good for reach, but posts get buried. Nobody scrolls back a year to find out if you treat knee pain.
- Hill families and referring doctors want a link they can forward on WhatsApp. One page with your name, timings and map does that job.
There is also a reason specific to clinics. Patients are nervous. A clear page with a real doctor's face settles them in a way a poster cannot.
02What should a clinic website have on it?
Keep it to what a worried patient looks for, in this order:
- The doctor's full name, photo, qualifications and registration details, written plainly.
- OPD days and timings, including Sundays and what to do in an emergency. Wrong timings cost someone a trip.
- Treatments and conditions, each with a short section in simple language.
- The address with a landmark and a map pin. 'Near Tikonia' or 'Rampur Road' helps more than a formal address.
- Call and WhatsApp buttons on every page, within easy reach of the thumb.
- What to bring and how to reach, for patients travelling from the hills.
- A few real photos of the clinic, the team and the waiting area.
Use the words patients use. Write 'ghutne ka dard' alongside the medical term, and 'knee pain' for those who search in English. Older patients and their children often read the same page on different phones, so simple Hindi and simple English both help.
Fees are your choice. Many doctors keep them off the page. A line saying fees can be confirmed on WhatsApp saves your staff the same question all day.
03How many pages does a clinic website need?
Fewer than most web designers will suggest. Match the size to how your clinic works:
| Option | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Google listing and WhatsApp only | Clinics full from referrals, or just starting | Little you can explain or control |
| One-page site | A single doctor with a focused speciality | Hard to explain many treatments on one page |
| Five to eight pages | Most clinics with several treatments or doctors | Someone must keep timings and names updated |
| Site with an online booking system | Larger setups with fixed slots and a trained front desk | Costs more to run, and fails if staff ignore it |
Most clinics we speak to belong in the third row: home, doctor, treatments, patient information and contact. Business websites with us start from ₹50,000 plus GST, and Website Design Cost in Rudrapur: From ₹50,000 explains what changes the cost.
04Do I need online booking on my clinic website?
Usually not at first. Many patients here prefer to call or send a WhatsApp message, especially older patients and children booking for their parents. A booking calendar that nobody checks is worse than no calendar, because the patient arrives believing they have a slot.
A button that opens WhatsApp with a ready message, such as 'Doctor sahab se appointment chahiye', fits how people already behave. Your receptionist replies, confirms a time, and sends the location pin. That costs almost nothing to set up.
Add booking software later, if your front desk already runs slots properly and the calls have become more than staff can handle. Build the habit first, and then buy the tool.
05What should a clinic website avoid?
Most of the damage comes from things added to look impressive:
- Stock photos of foreign doctors. Patients notice, and everything else starts to look doubtful.
- Cure promises and lines like 'permanent relief'. Medical advertising has rules, so check what your council allows before you publish.
- Patient photos or before-and-after images without clear written consent. Even with consent, think twice.
- Discounts pushed like a sale. They make a clinic look like a shop.
- Sliders and heavy videos that hang on patchy data, which is common for patients calling from the hills.
- A domain registered in the developer's name. Buy it yourself, or get it transferred to you, along with the hosting login.
Test the site yourself on a mid-range phone, on mobile data, away from the clinic's Wi-Fi. If the timings and the phone number do not appear quickly, fix that before anything else.
06How will patients in Haldwani find my clinic website?
A website does not bring patients by itself. It works with what you already have:
- Add the link to your Google Business Profile, and keep the timings there the same as on the site.
- Ask happy patients for honest reviews, and never offer anything in return.
- Put the link in your Instagram bio and your WhatsApp Business profile.
- Send the page when patients ask for timings or directions, so families can forward it.
Short videos of the doctor answering a common question also send people to the site, and they can sit on the treatment pages too. We have made doctor-led and presenter-led explainers for health brands such as Dr. Chandra and Instep Physio. The wider plan for a clinic, from content to ads, is at Hospital & Clinic Marketing Agency in Rudrapur.
07Where should I start this month?
You can do most of the groundwork before talking to any designer:
- Ask your receptionist to write down the questions patients ask all week. Those become your pages.
- Confirm every doctor's timings, and decide who will update them when they change.
- Buy your domain in your own name or the clinic's name.
- Get a clean photo of each doctor and the clinic in daylight.

08Questions people ask
How long does it take to build a clinic website?
It depends mostly on how quickly the details reach the designer. Names, timings, treatments and photos hold things up far more than the code does. Have these ready before you start, agree on dates in writing before paying, and decide who will approve the medical wording on the site.
Can I show patient reviews on my website?
You can, with care. Ask the patient's permission in writing, use only what they agree to, and leave out medical details they would not want public. A simpler choice is to link to your Google reviews, which people trust because you did not write them yourself and cannot quietly edit them.
Do I need a separate website for each doctor?
No. One site for the clinic, with a page for each doctor, is easier to keep updated and is clearer for patients. For visiting consultants, list their days prominently and update them when schedules change. A patient who travels on the wrong day will not forgive that easily.
Should I also list my clinic on doctor directory apps?
You can, since they bring some patients. But your profile on those apps sits on someone else's platform and under their rules. Treat them as extra listings. Keep your details the same everywhere, and let your own website stay the place that has the full and correct information.
