Guide
How do I get more members for my gym in Kashipur this January?
Start in December, not on 1 January. Post real members, trainers and the floor at busy hours, with a clear starting fee and timings. Offer a short trial that ends in a proper consultation. Answer WhatsApp enquiries fast. Then put as much effort into keeping January joiners until March as into signing them up.
Every gym owner knows the January rush. The resolution crowd arrives in the first two weeks, the floor is full at seven in the morning, and by February many have quietly stopped coming.
In Kashipur the pattern has local twists. Winter mornings are cold and foggy. Wedding season leaves people wanting to get fit before or after the shaadi. Many members work shifts at the factories around town. The gyms that do well in January plan it in December, and plan for February too.
01What does someone check before joining a gym in Kashipur?
Joining a gym is a small decision with a big fear behind it: looking foolish in front of regulars. Before they walk in, most people want to know:
- Is it close to home, or on the way to work?
- What does it cost each month, and is there a joining fee?
- Is it crowded at the time I can come?
- Are there women trainers or a women's batch?
- Does the equipment work, and is the place clean?
- Is there parking, and does it open early enough before a shift?
Most people check your Instagram and Google reviews first, then walk in for a look. If the fee is hidden and every reel shows the owner lifting heavy, the nervous beginner will not come. Your page has to say that beginners are welcome.
02What should a gym post in December to fill January?
Post the people and the place, honestly. These are the posts that turn a scroll into a visit:
| Post | Why it works | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Trainer introductions | People join for a trainer they trust | Name, speciality, batch timings |
| Real member stories | A beginner sees someone like them | With consent, and no shirtless before-and-afters |
| The floor at busy hours | Shows the crowd and the mood honestly | Shoot at the morning and evening peaks |
| Beginner tips | Lowers the fear of walking in | One exercise, done right, in Hindi |
| Women's batch or timings | Answers a question many will not ask | Show the trainer and the space |
| Fee and timings post | Saves ten DMs a day | Pin it to the top of the profile |
Skip the 'New Year, New You' poster with a stock model nobody in Kashipur has ever seen. Real trainers and real members do more, and they cost nothing extra once you have shot them.
03Which New Year offer should a gym run?
Keep the offer simple and honest. In our experience, deep discounts bring people who leave the day the offer ends. These tend to work better:
- A short paid trial that ends in a body assessment and a plan.
- A starter plan for the first few weeks, with a weekly trainer check-in.
- A bring-a-friend week, because people stay longer when they come with someone.
- A couple or family plan, useful after the wedding season.
- Early-bird pricing that ends on a clear date in December.
Whatever you choose, write the real fee on the post. A gym in a town like Kashipur competes on trust and convenience more than on price.
Never promise kilos lost or a new body in thirty days. It is the fastest way to a bad review, and it makes the honest gym down the road look better.
04How should I handle trial and joining enquiries on WhatsApp?
In January, speed decides who gets the member. Set this up before the rush:
- Reply within the hour. A late reply means they joined somewhere else.
- Keep a saved reply with the fee, timings, address and a map pin.
- Ask one question back: what is your goal, and when can you come?
- Book the trial for a specific time, and name the trainer they will meet.
- After the trial, follow up once, the same day.
- Keep a simple register of every enquiry, trial and joining.
That register is the most useful marketing tool a gym has. In March it tells you which post, offer or ad actually brought paying members, and what to repeat next year.
05Should a gym run Instagram ads in January?
Yes, if the basics are ready. Run your best real reel, usually a trainer or a member speaking, to people within a few kilometres of the gym. Start in the last week of December and keep it running through the middle of January. Use a WhatsApp button, not a link to a website nobody updates.
Judge the ads on trials booked and members joined, not on likes. If you are unsure whether to boost a post or set up a proper campaign, our post on Should I boost my Instagram post or run ads from Ads Manager? explains the difference.
Our Facebook Ads Agency in Rudrapur | Meta Ads page shows how we run local ads where the reel itself is the ad.
06How do I keep January members after February?
This is where most gyms lose the year. The resolution crowd needs a reason to come back in the third week, when the soreness and the cold mornings win.
- A trainer check-in in the first, third and sixth weeks.
- A WhatsApp broadcast for each batch, with gentle reminders.
- A simple February challenge, with progress shared only if members agree.
- A friendly call to anyone who misses a week. Not a sales call.
- Small wins in your stories: a first pull-up, a first month done.
Members who stay make your best content. Someone who was nervous in January and confident in March is the reel that sells next January.
07How does AMS work with gyms and fitness studios?
Advance Media Solution is a seven-person studio in Metropolis City, Rudrapur, about an hour from Kashipur. We have worked with fitness, wellness and sports brands including HS Gym, Hans Sports Academy and Playmore.
For a gym, we usually plan one early-morning shoot when the floor is busy: trainers, members who agree to be filmed, and the equipment in use. Then we post, answer DMs and run small local ads. How we work with gyms is on Gym Marketing in Rudrapur for Gyms, Studios and Physios.
If you want to plan January before December gets busy, call +91 91059 43909. Even if you do it yourself, pin a post with your fee and timings this week.
08Questions people ask
Should I post before-and-after photos of members?
Only with the member's clear consent, and only if the photos are honest: same light, same angle, no editing. Avoid promising that anyone will get the same result. Progress stories told in the member's own words, about energy, strength or a medical check-up they passed, often work better than shirtless photos.
Should I show the gym fee on Instagram?
Yes, at least a starting fee per month and what it includes. People who cannot find a price assume it is too high, and many will not message to ask. Pin the post with fees and timings to the top of your profile, and update it when the price changes.
Do Google reviews matter for a gym?
Yes. People nearby search for a gym and compare reviews before they visit. Ask happy members after their first month, when they feel the change. Reply to every review, and answer complaints about crowding or cleanliness calmly, with what you have fixed.
Is a professional shoot worth it for a small gym?
It can be, if it is planned. One morning shoot at peak hours can give a month of reels: trainer introductions, beginner tips, the floor in use. Phone videos by your trainers can fill the gaps after that. What matters most is that the people are real.
